Rock Hill, SC, December 8, 2025 – United Way of York County, SC envisions a financially stable community where everyone thrives. To achieve our vision, we have a Bold Goal to help York County families achieve financial stability by 2030.
We know that such an effort will require collaboration, coordination, commitment, and investment in deeper relationships with our strategic partners. We are now opening our grant process to organizations working in this space. We fund partners working towards the same end goal and hope you will join us as partners in this initiative.
United Way of York County will begin accepting funding proposals December 8, 2025 for the grant period beginning July 1, 2026.
This funding opportunity is an invitation to join United Way of York County (UWYC) in our Bold Goal to help
York County families achieve financial stability by 2030. Key components of this initiative include program performance evaluation, shared performance measures, and collaboration. The three funding categories are:
New applicants must submit a Letter of Interest by January 9, 2026. Agencies funded during the 2025-2026 Funding Cycle are not required to submit a full proposal and should complete an Intent to Recertify form by the January 9, 2026 deadline. More information on the recertification process will be sent to partners directly.
This grant cycle is expected to be for one year, ending June 30, 2027. Continued investment in this initiative is dependent on grantee performance and continued alignment with United Way of York County’s investment priorities.

We invite nonprofits, agencies, and community partners to join us in this work so together we can build a York County where every family has the chance not just to get by, but to truly thrive.”
Funding Goals, Strategies, and Measures
All applicants must be able to describe their alignment to UWYC’s Bold Goal. UWYC will only provide funding support to organizations that have demonstrated the ability to directly address one or more financial stability priorities in the areas of Financial Literacy, Workforce Development, or Economic and Family Support.
UWYC intends to fund projects that support working families in achieving financial stability.
Target population for all programs must include at least one of the following:
- Participants who are unemployed, underemployed, or not earning income at the ALICE® Threshold* for their family size/composition
- Single female head of households
- Earn above the income eligibility for needed services

Funding Timeline
Letters of Intent and Intent to Recertify forms are due by Friday, January 9, 2026 at 5:00 PM EST. Late submissions will not be considered.
Invitations to complete eligibility and submit a full application will be sent out by Monday, January 26, 2026.
The online application forms will be available beginning February 9, 2026.
