United Way of York County is proud to celebrate Kristin Taylor, Director of Community Partnerships and Initiatives, on her selection for United Way Worldwide’s Next-Generation Leaders Initiative.
Selected from among hundreds of applicants, Kristin will participate in an 18-month leadership program designed to equip emerging United Way leaders with the knowledge, skills and confidence to strengthen their community impact. The initiative focuses on five leadership traits: clarity, humility, collaboration, agility and ethics.
For our team, this recognition reflects the empathy and dedication Kristin brings to her work with York County families every day.
Kristin joined our staff while working as an intern in both the Bachelor of Social Work Program and Master of Social Work Program at Winthrop University and has since completed that journey in addition to becoming a Certified Financial Social Worker. Kristin gives tirelessly to those in need, and she demonstrates commitment to herself and others. While she was an intern at United Way she also worked another job in addition to caring for her family which includes her 13-year-old son Cooper and her husband Steven.
“Kristin approaches every family and every situation with empathy and the ability to care for others during very difficult times. Her clients describe her as the ‘one person they can count on to be there when they need her,’” said Rebecca Melton, President of United Way of York County.
Kristin’s sponsor will be Geri Hopkins, United Way of York County’s Board Chair and the Chief Operations Officer for Skyla Credit Union. Geri’s role will provide coaching throughout the experience and to take the journey with her as she grows in her leadership throughout this process.
We are grateful for the care Kristin brings to our community and excited to support her as she takes this next step in her leadership journey. Please join us in congratulating her on this well-deserved recognition!
