Women United
Dedicated to creating a world of opportunity – for everyone

MISSION STATEMENT
Women United is an inclusive sisterhood working to empower and enrich the lives of York County women through philanthropy, advocacy, and volunteerism. Members mobilize the caring power of women to promote community, stability, and equity.
BEHIND EVERY GREAT WOMAN
ARE THE WOMEN WHO HAVE HER BACK
Communities need champions who understand issues facing women and girls, see their potential, and offer solutions to make a difference. We believe that when a network of caring, powerful women get together to drive change, anything is possible.
Women United is part of a global network of more than 75,000 women in 165 communities across six countries, all dedicated to improving lives and creating stronger communities.
Help strengthen our work in York County by joining United Way of York County’s Women United!

BE IN HER CORNER
SUPPORT CHILDCARE. EMPOWER HER FUTURE.
Reliable childcare can be the difference between a parent putting their future on hold or moving forward.
United Way of York County created In Her Corner, a Women United initiative that helps parents pursuing education, workforce training, and career advancement access dependable childcare.
For many ALICE® (Asset Limited, Income Constrained, Employed) families, one missed shift, one class absence, or one childcare disruption can create serious instability. This initiative helps remove that barrier so parents can stay focused on earning certifications, completing degrees, and building long-term financial stability.
Your Support Helps Provide:
- Childcare assistance for parents enrolled in school or training
- Greater stability for families working toward economic mobility
- Safe, nurturing environments where children can learn and thrive
- Pathways to stronger careers and brighter futures
When we invest in childcare, we invest in families, workforce development, and the future of York County.
Together, we can ensure every parent pursuing opportunity has someone in her corner.
