Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) Free Tax Preparation
Free Tax Help & Assistance for 2026
VITA volunteers provide free tax preparation to those in our community who need assistance in preparing their own tax returns, including but not limited to persons with disabilities and limited English-speaking taxpayers.
Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA)
IRS-certified volunteers offer free, in-person tax preparation for eligible filers. Services include W-2s, most 1099s, tax credits like the Child Tax Credit and Earned Income Credit, and some prior-year returns (limited).

Hours and services may be limited.
VITA volunteers can assist with common tax forms and credits, including:
W-2 and W-2G forms; 1095, 1098-T, and most 1099 forms; Child Tax Credit and Earned Income Credit; itemized deductions; and prior-year or amended returns.

What to Bring
- All required tax forms and income documents (see list above), including prior-year IRS income transcripts if applicable
- Government-issued photo ID and Social Security cards or ITINs with birth dates for you, your spouse, and dependents
- A copy of last year’s tax return
- Documentation for childcare expenses, deductions, credits, and any other income
- Bank account and routing number for direct deposit or refund
- Married filing jointly: both spouses must be present
