Childcare Assistance Program
Helping parents pursue education with reliable childcare assistance
Supporting Parents. Strengthening Families.
Access to reliable childcare removes one of the biggest barriers preventing parents from completing their education and achieving long-term financial stability.
Making Childcare More Accessible
For many families, childcare is one of the largest monthly expenses, often rivaling the cost of rent or a mortgage. That financial burden can make it difficult for parents to return to school, complete a degree or certification, or pursue career advancement.
In York County, 69% of single mothers and 62% of single fathers are considered ALICE® (Asset Limited, Income Constrained, Employed). Recognizing this need, we partner with York Technical College to provide the Childcare Assistance Program. This program is designed to support ALICE parents as they work toward post-secondary education and increased earning potential.
The program helps cover a portion of childcare costs, making quality, reliable care more affordable while parents attend classes, study for exams, and work. With dependable childcare in place, parents can focus on reaching their educational goals, increase their income, reduce financial stress, and build a more stable future for their families.
