Work there, Give here

United Way of York County, SC is governed by a local volunteer Board of Directors, and is "locally owned and operated"- completely independent of any other United Way organization.  This allows us the ability to respond to local needs, and reflect the priorities and core values of the residents in York County.

"Live Here, Give Here" is a slogan used to deepen and expand the culture of personal philanthropy by inspiring York County citizens to invest in our community through the United Way.  Every day, over 29,000 individuals commute from York County to bordering cities for work.

We depend on our local nonprofits to meet so many of York County's most basic needs; but the shortage of funds for these organizations is creating large gaps in services.

This is why we encourage those that LIVE HERE in York County, to GIVE HERE.  It is our goal to connect people like YOU with the issues you care about and organizations that support our neighbors.

If you live in York County but work in another community or pledge through another United Way, please remember to designate your personal United Way contribution back to your community!

Ask your United Way Employee Campaign Coordinator how to designate your gift to United Way of York County, SC or write the following information on your pledge card:
"Designate my gift to United Way of York County, SC"

We want to inspire people to invest their money into the community in which we live and enjoy!
