The United Way of York County (UWYC) partnered with the Sisters of Charity Foundation of South Carolina (SOCFSC) on the creation of Carolina Academy York County. The Academy provides resources and training to community leaders in the non-profit sector. The Sisters of Charity Foundation’s Carolina Academy has had tremendous success in the non-profit community in Columbia, SC, therefore, saw a need to expand to other areas in the state.
The Academy offers educational opportunities and fosters organizational capacity building. Workshops are not only for UWYC partner agencies but, any registered non-profit organization within York County, free of charge. UWYC wants to offer these workshops to help agencies stay informed and, provide them with the necessary skills to take their organization to the next level. Non-profit professionals have the opportunity to network with other agencies, develop partnerships and learn best practices in the non-profit sector.
All workshops are open to local non-profit Executive Directors, board members, professional staff and volunteers in York County. Registration for each session is required and email reminders will be sent to those that RSVP. Details for upcoming workshops and registration links will be posted on UWYC website and social media outlets. York County residents can stay connected on upcoming events by following us on Facebook and Twitter (@UnitedWayYC).
