Community Needs Study
The community needs study was conducted in 2005 to identify and prioritize community needs, both those currently being addressed by local agencies and those not being met by services offered in our community. Once needs were identified, local agencies and organizations could collaborate to better address these community needs. Also, by studying local health and human service needs, residents and organizations will have a better understanding of where financial contributions can make the greatest impact on our residents’ lives.
Research included:
-
800 random telephone surveys; 400 from Eastern and 400 from Western York County.
-
4 town hall meetings - one in each school district community
-
Internet message board
-
Key leader interviews
-
Secondary data from research
The community needs study was funded by the City of Rock Hill, York County Government and Springs Industries.
Consultants Ronald K. Green, Chair of Winthrop University's Social Work Department and Dr. Paul K. The information from this study serves as the foundation for United Way's Community Impact Agenda, outlined in our Community Report Card. For more information about the Community Report Card, please click here, or download the report card on the right.
